Sport Complex of IC "Skolkovo"

A preliminary sketch of an architectural solution has been developed by a French company Platform Architectures; therefore, the UNK project was faced the task of modifying the original version.

Thus, the building of a sports complex, located within "Skolkovo" innovation center, looked like a compound consisting of a few simple geometric shapes, cylinders placed atop each other. A small shift of concentric volumes and horizontal slats, spanning the entire façade, add up tangible dynamics to the construction. The complex has a glass facade, which allows maximum use of natural light, while the slats, on the contrary, are designed to provide shading of interior space. Each of the cylinders has a height corresponding to the height of floor, two lower ones are 4.5 meters, the top one is 9 meters.

The ground level houses a children's center, a swimming pool, a beauty salon and several office premises. The center of the circle is the communication hub in the form of the elevators and the main staircase. The second floor contains gyms and halls for group trainings. One floor above there are the gyms for various purposes. Modern style echoes closely with the interior design.
